2017 March

A get together was organized by Naning and Martin Lapid to kick off March activities.  The Media Gallery has new entries.  We have also revived the Featured Company/Business section of our News pages.

Modifications to profile update were received from Dicky Gochangco, Mike Paraiso, Ben Romey, Robert Reyes and Eymard Javier.

Naning and Martin Lapid spearheaded a despedida for Mr. Sonny Madera.   The event was held at Livestock Bar and Restaurant located at Sgt. Esguerra Avenue on March 2, 2017.  Present during this gathering were Ricky de Guzman, Martin Lapid, Riz Apostol, Alvin Pagarigan, Robert Reyes, Leo del Castillo, Napoy Racelis, Ariel Decena, Louie Tengco and Miong Villahermosa.  Digitally present through the Viber group chat were Roehl Dumlao, Raul Castro and Dicky Gochangco.  Unfortunately, Sonny Madera got tied up in other activities in Parañaque.  Naning was not able to attend as he had to go to a wake of an immediate relative.  The same is true for Herbert.  Please accept our condolences.

Naging masaya ang maliit na pagtitipon na ito.  Masarap ang mga inorder na seafood ni Martin.  Lalo na yung isda.  Malasang malasa.  At may personal service pa ni Martin na ipag serve ka sa plato.  May beer syempre (mawawala ba yun). We parted ways at around past 11pm.  Pero syempre, konting kwentuhan pa uli bago sumakay sa mga kotse.  Napag tripan pa na mag pa picture sa harap ng kotse na dala ni Riz.  Some pictures of this event are in the Media Gallery.

New entry to the Family Media Gallery for this month is Benmar Romey who resides in Canada.  He is part of our class section Pusong81.  He was with us up to 3rd year HS.  Kung hindi nyo pa din maalala, sya yung naka braces na tinatawag natin na "PBM Steel"

Modification to the Media Gallery is the new folder named "In Memoriam"  This is dedicated to the memory of our former batchmates who we will forever remember.

Thank you very much for those who commented after we posted the 2017 Homecoming photos.  Your comments are most welcome.

There were several new entries in our guestbook since the re-launch of our website.

We still invite everyone to submit their updated profile.  Our last entry for profile update was in 2009.  Modification to existing entries were last made in 2006.  Migration repair of the Roll Call profile is in progress and should hopefully be completed by weekend of March 4 or March 11.  Watch out for it.

Our invitation is still open to join our yahoogroups mailing list and viber group chat.

Lyrics and music of Lourdes Forever, previously located in the December 2000 (3rd week) news article has now been moved to the About Lourdes School page

FEATURED COMPANY/BUSINESS

This is a revived segment in our news page.  Thanks to Raul Go and Robert Reyes for discussing this.  This is intended to highlight personal business ventures of our batchmates.  We started way back 1999 with Just for Birds, Inc. of Michael Manlapig.

Featured this month is RT Gonzales and his family's transient room business, TARRAGONCORNER.  Conveniently located very near NAIA-3, Newport City, Marriot Hotel, ResortsWorld and MOA, this business started in 2009 with only one room.  On March 6, 2017, they will be opening three more rooms to bring the total to nine (9) rooms.

As RT said, "It is our belief that our guests should not spend so much on lodging whenever in Manila... rather spend their hard earned money on food, pasyalan and pasalubong.".  Based on posts in their FB pages, a lot of happy customers have repeatedly booked.  For as low as P750 / day (price unchanged since 2009), you can avail use of one king size bed, air conditioned room, own toilet & bath, cable tv and free wifi.  There is also a free shuttle to NAIA-3 upon request and subject to availability.  It is less than a minute walk to the 24 hour Metro Supermarket.  Several food and services stores are also very near the area.

(webmaster's note: A long overdue price increase was implemented after most of the rooms were renovated in June 2017.  The standard room rates are now P800/day for one-two pax.  Free shuttle service are for three or more days bookings.  For more details, see the company's FB page.)

To quote the company's FB page, "We have met alot of good people, from different places of the Philippines, from Neighboring ASEAN and countries as far as Eastern Europe. Stories told of coping with loneliness while working years on end away from family. The sweet sight of hugs, every laughter on each arrival.".  They have had backpackers, balikbayans travelling to and from the province, OFWs, business men and women.  Kuya RT (or Manong RT ba?) and his wife Joyce, together with the resident beagle, Butter, will welcome you upon arrival.

Share this information with your family, friends, officemates who may have need of a transient room in the area.  Address is P9-01, 3rd cor 8th St, Villamor, Pasay City.  Updated contact information is available through their Facebook page which is in our Links Page.
