January 2001

By now, you should have received notification from egroups.com of your membership in the LSQC81 egroups. Please take time to go into www.egroups.com using the temporary password supplied to you. This will allow you to modify your profile inside egroups. If you were not sent a notification and want to be a member of the LSQC81 egroup, just send an email to the webmaster. To send a discussion message to everyone in the LSQC81 egroups, just send a message to lsqc81@egroups.com Note that for now, the LSQC81 egroups is exclusive to LSQC81, Pusong81, and Faculty.

Juanito Cartagena (Pusong81) and Michael Yap (92) submitted new profile updates. Joseph Nucum, Edwin Lagera, Oyo Ella, Robbie Mercado, Ray Elido and Dicky Gochangco submitted changes to their profile. See Roll Call page. We were already able to get in touch with Dan Ora and Manuel Agulto, Jr. but they still have to log-in and submit their profiles.

Read news about the upcoming Alumni Homecoming and other matters.

Finally, the LSQC Alumni Association has a website. The link to this website has been added at the links page.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Late ang batch news natin ngayon dahil medyo na-engross tayo sa impeachment proceedings at nawalan ako ng oras sa update. Anyways, back to the website na naman.

Not wanting to break his yearly tradition, Oyo Ella sent his annual picture greeting. Click Family photos at the Roll Call page. He moved from Guam to California before the Christmas holidays and I could just imagine lots of things that needs to be done. Good luck, Pareng Oyo.

Pahabol na email greeting was received from Boyet Suntay.

LSQC81 batchmates with email should have received notification via the egroups email regarding three upcoming important matters as follows:

1. The LSQCAA invites everyone to the Grand Alumni Homecoming dubbed as "Let's Groove Tonight!" at 4pm Saturday, February 24, 2001 at the LSQC Grade School Grounds. Since our graduation in 1981, only a handful have been attending this annual event. This year as we celebrate our batch's 20th year, I pray that a lot of us will be able to participate in this momentous event. I urge everyone to pass on the word to our batchmates to block off this date.

2. The Class of 1976 will be coming up with a Souvenir Program and Alumni Directory. They are asking for support by way of advertisement on the souvenir program. The package as follows: outside back cover-P20T, inside front cover-P10T, inside back cover-P10T, inside full page-P5T, inside half page-P2T, line sponsors-P1.5T. Instead na iinom siguro natin ng beer ay itabi natin ang portion para makatulong tayo sa LSQC76. Remember that in 5 years time, we will be experiencing the same thing as we will be sponsoring the Grand Alumni Homecoming then.

3. A call from Fr. Troy regarding the Golden Anniversary of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Text of his email follows:

Dear Lourdesians:
peace and all blessings! FOr your info. this year marks
the GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY of Our Lady of Lourdes Church which was inaugurated
on Feb. 11, 1951 (LSQC was inaugurated on 1955). LSQC is always connected
with the Lourdes Church for it is always there that the religious life of
the school is culminated. I am writing this letter to solicit some
financial help from the Lourdesians for the many social projects of the
parish which is also a National Shrine since 1997. If you can also send
this message to all the other Lourdesians of other batches. GOd bless you
all and may Our Lady of Lourdes give you all protection.
Fr. Troy

I do hope we can discuss all of these matters further at our egroups account or you may email me at lsqc81@yahoo.com.
